In the "Select a State" box pull down the menu and highlight the location’s state

Click on the “go” button

On the next screen click on the link indicated in the Fact Sheet box

The next screen will be the summary fact sheet for the location

Scroll down the screen to review the categories. Beside each sub category is a link to “map” for a map of the area for which the data is reported. There is occasionally a link to “brief” which will display the explanation of that sub-category

At the beginning of each category (e.g. Economic Characteristics) there is a "show more" link

Click on this link for a more specific report of that category
Scroll to the bottom of the screen to access the 1990 data
There are two categories
1990 Summary Tape File 1 (STF 1) - 100-Percent data This category does NOT include economic information
1990 Summary Tape File 3 (STF 3) - Sample data This IS the category that includes economic information
For either category

To the right of the selection is: Select from the following options:

Select either Detailed Tables or Quick tables

In the "select a geographic type" pull down box choose "place"

The box below the "place" box will state a "select a state"

Scroll through this box to the desired state

When a state is selected a list of places will appear in the “Select one or more geographic areas and click "Add" box below the “select a state box”
Follow the direction
Click on at least one place listed and click "Add"
The selected place will appear in the “Current geography selections” in the box below.
Click "Next"
Use one of the three tabs at the top of the screen to continue to open each box on the screen and make selections
Click "add"
Click on "Show result"
The result will appear on the responding screen
